Patrick Jouin has made his name amongst the greatest designers through his often discreet and sleek style.
Initially responsible for industrial furniture at Philippe Starck’s design studio, he opened his own agency in 1988. Since then, he has been hired by a number of major furniture brands, including Cassina, XO, Ligne Roset, Fermob and Alessi. He used his spatial design skills to transform Lille-Flandres railway station in 2004. And in 2007 he designed the parking stands for the Vélib bicycle hire scheme in Paris.
A decisive meeting with Alain Ducasse gave him the opportunity to further prove his talent as an interior architect: he refitted Ducasse’s restaurant and the bar at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée (Paris), as well as the 59 Poincaré (Paris), Mix (New York and Las Vegas), Dorchester (London), the worldwide Spoon chain and, more recently, the Jules Vernes on the second level of the Eiffel Tower.
